Compromise Now!

The stakes are high, the future of American Society is at stake.
We must make reasonable decisions based on reality. 
We cannot roll back the clock and pretend that the 
multiple problems that we have will go away.

Immigration Reform Now

This must happen in 2010!!

The impasse:
The right wants the borders sealed before anything will happen.
The left wants "REFORM" that guarantees a path to
citizenship now or Amnesty now.
There can be a compromise on this issue that makes sense.
Give an opportunity for a  path to citizenship to illegals who have
been here for a minimum of two years and who have not
broken any laws or received any aid or benefits through fraud.
Give these hones and hard working individuals immediate legal
status for a modest penalty fee in addition to the regular cost of the
application for legal status.
There are immediate benefits of this compromise. First it will help
to stem the flow of illegals and it will enable the government to act
quickly on a vital national security issue. The borders must be sealed
now. It must be stated clearly that no exceptions to breaking our
immigration laws will be allowed in the future.
This is  a reasoned compromise and both to sides should seriousely
consider this approach.

The usual conditions mentioned by both
Democrats and Republicans should also apply:

LEARN ENGLISH,

PAY A FINE

and go into a multi-year period of gaining  citizenship.

We need to make sure that we do not
penalize people who waited for legal status
and followed the rules.

Some other steps that need to be taken immediately:

START ENFORCING EXISTING LAWS

ENACT Sen. Chuck Schumer's (Democrat, NY) ,
LEGISLATION FOR A NATIONAL
ID CARD FOR ALL AMERICAN WORKERS

DOUBLE THE BUDGET FOR CUSTOMS
the money is already approved in the Stimulus Bill

PUT THE NATIONAL GUARD IN HOT-SPOTS
such as on the border in Arizona

IF NECESSARY SET UP REFUGEE CAMPS
TO HANDLE THE HUMANITARIAN TRAGEDY
OF PEOPLE LOST, HUNGRY and THIRSTY.

DOUBLE ALL FINES AND JAIL TIME FOR
COMPANIES AND INDIVIDUALS THAT HIRE,
SMUGGLE OR TRAFFIC IN ILLEGALS AND
MAKE MONEY OFF OF THEIR SUFFERING.

Please, Contact your Congressman and Senator
and ask them to consider these realistic solutions.

The Senior Stoner I

Sunday ..."for there's something in a Sunday makes a body feel alone" probably misquoted from Jerry Jeff Walker Welll,  I wasn't sure about feeling alone but it was definitely Sunday so the tune seemed right. I just had a cup of Irish Butter Coffee, my take on Bulletproof or Butter Coffee which I have been hearing a bit of a buzz about of late. My take is pure Kerrygold Irish Butter and Organic Coconut Oil and Organic Coffee, a dark roast from Peru. Prep time is 2-3 minutes per cup, I am drinking my second. It's delicious and has a nice awake buzz to it, more than the usual blast from a cup or two of coffee. Speaking of a buzz, Thursday afternoon, I dropped into the office in Inglewood; gotta stay out of there. Little John the Christian Egyptian was there and for $20.fixed me up with a nice little bag of pot. ECONOMICS of CHAOS

Part IV of the Health Care Chaos There is a pattern that has been going on in our country for generations. The focus on a problem comes and goes but only the incremental changes and improvements that time brings actually solves most problems. In the case of health care, we should not allow this to happen. It amazes me that only incremental changes in the system have been made in the American Health Care system since the Clinton Team tried and failed to change it twenty years ago.
